Hello! First let me congratulate you on this amazing journey that you are about to embark on! My name is Amanda Myers-Ramirez and I am a DONA Doula, Lamaze and Passion for Birth Childbirth Educator,
and Owner of Exceptional Beginnings!
In addition to being a Doula and Childbirth Educator I am also a graduate of Liberty University (in Lynchburg Virginia) with a Bachelors of Science in Special Education. I am currently a sixth year teacher at a local high school working with students with multiple disabilities. As long as I can remember I have wanted to help women who are expecting a child with special needs.
Three years ago, when I had my son, I truly discovered a deeper love of encouraging and supporting couples through the pregnancy
(and delivery) process. After my son was born I decided to continue my education and pursue a career as a Doula and Child Birth Educator!
After a three years of working through the doula certification process (through DONA) I am proud to call myself teacher and a doula! One day I hope to focus my business (Exceptional Beginnings) on High Risk Births, primarily pregnancies involving a child with special needs HOWEVER right now my focus is on helping all types of families and through all types of pregnancies!
I am truly humbled and blessed by this role.
It is the greatest honor to be a part of welcoming a child into this world.
Birth is a moment filled with so much HOPE and JOY!
In my free time (do moms with careers have free time??) I enjoy spending time with my family (see pictures below) and traveling! We love go to the beach, camp, and pretty much any other outdoor activity we can do with a three year old! I truly look forward to meeting you and your family and hearing about how
I can use my passion as doula to help serve you!
